Thursday November 11, 2021:The Priory Council of the Priory of England and the Islands is announcing today that Lionel Jarvis has stood down as Prior and Chair of St John Ambulance as a result of personal health concerns. He leaves the charity after five and a half years of service.

The Chancellor of the Priory of England and the Islands, Michael Messinger, has been appointed as the Acting Prior and Chair of St John Ambulance with immediate effect. The Vice Chancellor of the Priory will provide additional support to cover existing responsibilities. 

A recruitment process is already underway to recruit a new Prior and Chair which we hope will conclude in the coming months.
