Our recruitment process

Here is what to expect when you apply for a specialist or leadership role. Follow our three step process:

  1. Send an application

Once you’ve decided on a volunteer role, you can apply for it online by finding a vacancy near you. We'll be in touch about your application after the closing date

  2. Meet with us

You'll be invited to have a conversation about volunteering in an interview, if your application is successful. We do short-list for most of these roles, so there may be a delay.

  3. Induction and training

Following your interview, you'll be provided with key dates and information about training for your role. Once you've completed your training and all pre-volunteering checks have been completed by HR, you are then ready to volunteer!

Pre-volunteering checks

We complete pre-volunteering checks on everyone for a number of regulatory and legal reasons. It is also good volunteering practise.

All our pre-volunteering checks must be completed before you can start volunteering with us.

Volunteer roles within a clinical setting, for example working with ambulances or young people, require a higher level of screening. These checks can take longer to complete so please be patient with our HR team.
