Important update: post-pandemic resumption of face-to-face fundraising
Thank you for supporting St John Ambulance!
As restrictions have lifted and we make our way towards a post-pandemic life, the decision to resume door-to-door fundraising has been thoroughly evaluated. Face-to-face fundraising will now resume as normal, as well as site fundraising. We will continue to monitor fundraiser and donor feedback in the same way we have done so for the past few years.
As a clinically-led organisation we have worked hard to ensure this activity is always undertaken sensitively, safely and responsibly. Please see our page on extra measures in place should someone require them. We are determined to protect everyone’s health when we are able to do so.
About face-to-face fundraising
As a charity, face-to-face fundraising is very important to us, because regular donations mean we can plan for the future more effectively.
We use professional fundraising agencies, like many other charities, to help us raise the most funds we can. For over 25 years, we have been fundraising door-to-door with Wesser Ltd, a well-established family run business that has raised over £62 million from our loyal door-to-door supporters across the country. Wesser Ltd are subject to regular audits to ensure the highest level of service is provided.
In 2022, we partnered with Trinity Marketing to further increase our fundraising efforts. Trinity Marketing are Ireland’s largest face-to-face fundraising supplier. They have offices dotted across the country and have recently expanded into the UK. Like many businesses, Trinity were hugely affected by the impact of COVID-19. Thankfully, since returning to the field last year, they have now put themselves in a better position to expand than ever before. With Trinity, they bring a wealth of experience from markets like Australia, the US, Ireland and the UK. Their Mission Statement is simple and represents the focus they have for their clients and their workforce: Changing People’s Perception’s by Changing People’s Lives.
All door-to-door fundraisers wear a St John Ambulance branded t-shirt, body warmer, or coat, and carry a professional ID badge with all legally-required details. They go from door-to-door, talking to people about our work and asking them to consider supporting us by giving a regular donation by direct debit.
We have recruited over 350,000+ supporters for St John Ambulance through speaking to people door-to-door. We continue to increase awareness of first aid and support for our work through our door-to-door activity, which in turn means we can save more lives across the UK.
