Our ambulance driver training courses 

St John Ambulance has run well-respected, nationally recognised ambulance driver training for our volunteers and ambulance staff for many years. All our trainers are highly-experienced professionals, guaranteeing a well-structured, informative and engaging learning experience. You don't have to be a member of St John Ambulance to train with us. We offer ambulance driver training to NHS trusts, private transport providers and individuals.

Which ambulance driving courses do St John Ambulance run?

We run a wide variety of courses to suit  different requirements. You can find out more and complete an Expression of Interest form by visiting our course pages for CERAD, DERADI, and APCSAD. 

Flexible approach with expert instructors 

We run courses across the country throughout the year. You can book a place as an individual learner or book for a group. We regularly run training for NHS Ambulance Trusts, private ambulance and patient transport providers. 

We have a flexible training programme structure. We always aim to accommodate your needs, preferred dates and locations. Even if you contact us at short notice, we will do our very best to accommodate you.  

For NHS ambulance trusts or private providers, we can work in partnership with your existing training team. We can provide you with additional training capacity at peak times or teach smaller numbers of crew or individuals, fitting around their shifts.  

Support at every step of the course  

All our trainers are highly skilled specialist instructors, able to adapt their teaching style to meet each learner’s needs. We offer individual, end-to-end support to each learner. This might include extra help with portfolio work or getting the most out of the self-taught Guided Learning Hours. We can support you to arrange placements to practice your newly acquired skills. With us, your success is our success!
